Woosong University Kazakhstan offers a wide range of student-led clubs that contribute to a vibrant campus life and support students’ academic and personal development. Covering diverse fields such as technology, sports, media, arts, and communication, these clubs create opportunities for students to explore their interests and gain practical experience.
At the beginning of each semester, the Student Council organizes a Club Expo, where both new and returning students can discover different clubs, learn about their activities, and become part of a dynamic student community.
One of the active student organizations, the Korean Culture Club, recently organized a meaningful cultural activity in the city of Turkistan. Kazakh students introduced exchange students from Korea to Kazakh traditions through a hands-on experience focused on traditional ornament-making and “kilem” (carpet weaving).
During the session, students learned about the cultural meaning and symbolism behind Kazakh patterns and had the opportunity to participate in the creation process themselves. This allowed for a deeper, practice-based understanding of local heritage and craftsmanship.
As a memorable part of the event, Korean students were presented with traditional taqiya as a symbolic gift representing Kazakh hospitality, respect, and cultural appreciation.
Such initiatives highlight how student clubs at Woosong University Kazakhstan foster meaningful cultural exchange, strengthen intercultural understanding, and create lasting shared experiences within the campus community.
