Dual Degree

The 2+2 dual degree program provides students with the opportunity to complete 50% of their studies at WSUK and complete the remaining 50% at a Woosong university(Korea). Students can obtain two degrees at the completion of the 2+2 program. In order to qualify to participate in the program, students must fulfill the criteria set by both WSUK and Woosong university(Korea).

WSUK students who participate in the 2+2 program will receive a 30% reduction of Woosong University's first semester tuition fee after transferring to Woosong University(Korea). From the second semester after transferring, it will be based on Woosong University's scholarship criteria.

In addition, students also have the opportunity to join another 2+2 dual degree program involving WSUK and one of WSU’s global partner universities.

Requirements

In order to apply for the outbound Dual Degree program, students must meet the following Woosong criteria:

Woosong Requirements
2+2 dual degree 70 credits in 4 semesters and a 1.8 CGPA (for WSU degree)
3+1 dual degree 105 credits in 6 semesters and a 1.8 CGPA (for WSU degree)

Students should also ensure that they meet the WOOSOG university Korea(WSU) admission requirements and meet all the important deadlines set by the WSU.

After transferring to a WSU, students in the dual degree program are required to send official copies of their transcripts to the WSUK(Woosong University Kazakhstan) Office each semester to maintain their academic status at WSUK. Students must also keep the WSUK office informed of their registration status at the WSU or WOOSONG's partner school.

Upon completion of the program, students are required to submit official copies of their final transcript and a copy of their diploma to the WSUK Office to obtain their degree from WSUK. Students are also required to apply for graduation and complete the graduation checklist to obtain their WSUK degree.

Application Procedure

Below are the basic steps that students need to take to submit an application for exchange. Students should carefully review the steps in the application procedure to avoid any delays in processing of their application

  1. Check the eligibility requirements of WSUK and the WSU or Woosong’s partner university.
  2. Consult with WSUK Office about the WSU or Woosong’s partner university , and inform the office of your decision to determine the study plan you need to complete in order to be eligible.
  3. Submit the outbound application form at least one week before the nomination deadline of the university you have chosen along with the following required documents. Applications will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis:
    • WSUK transcript
    • One clear copy of the student’s passport ID page
    • TOEFL/IELTS/TOEIC score report
    • Two photographs
    • Copy of alien registration card (international students only)
  4. If you are eligible, you will be invited for an interview.
  5. After successfully completing the interview, students will be nominated to the host university and subsequently asked to fill out application forms of the WSU or Woosong’s partner university.
  6. Find out about the visa application procedure, requirements, and pay any advance fees required by WSU or Woosong’s partner university.
  7. After getting the acceptance letter from the WSU or Woosong’s partner university, apply for visa and make travel arrangements.
  8. Meet with the outbound program coordinator to discuss your plans about studying abroad.
  9. Submit the Clearance Checklist to the Student Services Manager before your departure and inform the Study Abroad Office and the host university of your travel dates
